About this opportunity
The University of Michigan African Studies Center offers a five-month residential research fellowship for early-career faculty currently teaching at an African university.
Responsibilities
- Reside in Ann Arbor for the five-month fellowship and work on the approved research project.
- Participate in the programme’s academic activities during the assigned August–December or January–May cohort.
- Complete the proposed research with support from University of Michigan faculty and resources.

Qualifications and requirements
- Be an early-career faculty member currently teaching at an African university.
- Submit a curriculum vitae and a research proposal of no more than five pages.
- Provide institutional endorsement or the required support letter.
- Applicants outside the directly listed African countries must be nominated by a University of Michigan faculty member with an existing relationship.
