About this role

Samsara is the pioneer of the Connected Operations Cloud, a platform that lets organisations depending on physical operations turn Internet of Things data into actionable insight. The Associate Sales Engineer supports the UK and Ireland sales team as the technical expert on Samsara's products, working with prospects on discovery calls and demonstrations. The role is remote within the United Kingdom.

Responsibilities

  • Become an expert on Samsara products, where IoT, AI and computer vision meet digital transformation for physical operations.
  • Demonstrate quick and efficient discovery to understand customer needs and answer technical questions, ideally on a single call.
  • Be highly available for standard demo and account coverage, and provide temporary technical expertise across the Samsara sales team.
  • Understand how the devices are installed, well enough to explain it to a prospect over the phone.
  • Educate customers on the technical aspects of APIs and deploy scripts using the Samsara API to a testing environment on demand.
  • Advocate for account executives, prospects and customers in internal technical conversations.

Qualifications and requirements

  • BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Preferred: 1+ years working with customers in a pre-sales or support capacity.
  • Ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Basic understanding of electronics and electrical systems.
  • Well versed in one of: cloud software, networking, or automation and control systems.
  • Experience tinkering with hardware gadgets, sensors or vehicles is a plus.
