About this role
At Pavago, one of our clients is hiring a Network Engineer to design, configure, secure, and maintain enterprise-grade network infrastructure across production environments. This is a hands-on infrastructure role focused on routing and switching, firewalls, VPNs, network security, monitoring, cloud networking, and performance optimization. You’ll work across enterprise environments using Cisco, Juniper, Palo Alto, Fortinet, and hybrid cloud technologies to ensure secure, reliable, and highly available networks. If you enjoy solving complex networking challenges, maintaining critical infrastructure, and improving enterprise network performance, this role is for you.
Responsibilities
- Configure, maintain, and optimize enterprise routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs.
- Work across networking platforms including Cisco, Juniper, Palo Alto, and Fortinet.
- Implement and maintain routing protocols including BGP, OSPF, and EIGRP.
- Perform firmware upgrades, hardware maintenance, patch management, and infrastructure improvements.
- Support enterprise network expansions, migrations, and infrastructure upgrades.
- Monitor network health using SolarWinds, Nagios, PRTG, Zabbix, or similar monitoring tools.
- Utilize tools such as Wireshark and TCPdump for packet analysis.
- Perform root-cause analysis and document remediation plans.
- Respond to escalated production incidents while meeting SLA requirements.
- Configure and maintain enterprise firewall policies and VPN security.
- Secure remote access
- Zero Trust networking principles
- Work with security tools such as Snort and Suricata where applicable.
- Perform bandwidth utilization analysis and capacity planning.
- Maintain network uptime of 99.9% or greater.
- Proactively identify and resolve infrastructure risks before they impact production.
- Use Visio, Lucidchart, or similar tools.
- Follow structured ITIL change management processes.
- Ensure documentation remains accurate and audit-ready.
- Collaborate with infrastructure, cloud, and DevOps teams.
Qualifications and requirements
- Strong troubleshooting skills under pressure.
- Detail-oriented with excellent documentation habits.
- Proactive approach to preventing outages and improving reliability.
- Strong communicator who explains technical concepts clearly.
- Comfortable balancing operational support with infrastructure projects.
- Passionate about networking, security, and continuous improvement.
- Experience with enterprise monitoring, troubleshooting, and packet analysis tools.
- Strong documentation, analytical, and communication skills.
- Excellent written and verbal English communication.
- CCNP, CCIE, or equivalent networking certifications.
- Palo Alto or Fortinet certifications.
- Hybrid cloud environments
- Experience supporting highly available, multi-site enterprise environments.
