About this role
The Senior Assigned Support Engineer is a trusted technical adviser to GitLab’s largest customers across self-managed, dedicated and hosted deployments. This remote role is limited to applicants in Poland or the United Kingdom and focuses on preventing disruption and resolving complex GitLab issues.
Responsibilities
- - Support large customers and keep their GitLab environments stable and performant.
- - Resolve complex and critical cases using logs, Linux tools, email and video.
- - Build proactive relationships with customer stakeholders.
- - Coordinate defect resolution with product, development, infrastructure, success and sales teams.
- - Advise customers on GitLab and continuous-delivery implementation issues.
- - Create reusable support documentation and knowledge articles.
- - Share knowledge with other engineers and participate in hiring.
Qualifications and requirements
- - Experience managing complex customer-facing support cases end to end.
- - Advanced troubleshooting across applications, infrastructure and integrations.
- - Strong Linux systems-administration knowledge.
- - Practical GitLab and continuous-integration or delivery experience.
- - Ability to write reusable support content and troubleshooting guides.
- - Scripting experience with languages such as Ruby or Bash.
- - Clear communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- - Familiarity with DevOps practices such as Kubernetes or serverless platforms.
