About this role
The Manager, Support Engineering leads GitLab’s United States Government support team and owns support delivery for government customers. This remote United States role manages engineers handling complex enterprise deployments and regulated customer environments.
Responsibilities
- - Lead support engineers resolving complex United States Government customer cases.
- - Improve the government-support operating model, processes and tools.
- - Hire, onboard, coach and develop support engineers.
- - Partner with product and engineering teams on government customer needs.
- - Coordinate critical escalations through the manager on-call rotation.
- - Join customer calls and ticket reviews for complex or sensitive issues.
- - Identify patterns and implement continuous support improvements.
Qualifications and requirements
- - Experience leading and developing support-engineering teams.
- - Technical-support leadership for complex enterprise products.
- - Familiarity with government customers or other regulated environments.
- - Experience hiring, onboarding and growing engineers.
- - Ability to coach engineers through escalations and development conversations.
- - Experience managing severe production incidents.
- - Strong cross-functional collaboration with engineering and product teams.
