About this role

The Technical Program Management team at Affirm operates at the intersection of strategy, product, and engineering execution. We are versatile operators and trusted strategic partners who drive complex initiatives, design our planning engines, and architect operational frameworks that power the technology behind Affirm's business. Guided by our commitment to putting the customer first and pushing the envelope, we elevate how teams collaborate, resolve critical tradeoffs, and turn high-level vision into scalable reality.
Responsibilities
- Drive complex, multi-disciplinary, and highly visible transformation & operational programs in service of our team’s mission to deliver honest financial products that improve lives
- Coordinate and collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders across the company to drive alignment on strategy, priorities, and key decisions.
- Implement lean processes and drive towards better ways of working to realize value from planning, ask questions that clarify priorities and push the team to be effective, and build a culture of continuous iteration and improvement
- Establish and run data-driven operational frameworks to view portfolio performance against OKRs, accelerate value realization by enabling right investment decisions, influence and train teams on more effective ways of working, and create excitement around change to increase adoption
- Develop communication strategies to ensure critical information flows seamlessly across the organization
- Partner with cross-functional teams to plan change requirements, identify risks, manage dependencies, and establish tools and forums to drive clarity and efficiency
- Identify and distill needs, experiment with new ideas to address systemic inefficiencies and bring transparency, visibility, alignment, and promote accountability across the organization
Qualifications and requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience
- 8 years of proven experience managing programs, processes, and change management in a technology-focused environment
- Strong technical background with a deep understanding of software development processes
- Organized and strategic approach to collaborating across multi-disciplinary teams
- Obsesses over getting the details right but knows how to make tradeoff decisions
- Strong stakeholder management with Product, Engineering, Design, Analytics, and other cross-functional teams
- Track record of successfully implementing frameworks at scale and building relationships in a remote friendly culture
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and consulting skills
- Passion and drive to change consumer finance for the better
- Prior experience in FinTech, Payments or Commerce is a plus.
