About this role

The ideal candidate understands vector graphics, print-ready file preparation, scaling, resolution, and the practical differences between artwork that looks good on a screen and artwork that can successfully be produced at commercial scale. The client has an established industry-specific training program available to help the selected designer learn the company's exact production workflows. The objective of each engagement is to assist the client in improving business efficiency, enhancing service delivery, or supporting operational functions through high-quality, task-specific services rendered by a qualified contractor.

Responsibilities

  • Create and modify customer artwork using Adobe Illustrator and/or CorelDRAW
  • Develop production-ready vector graphics
  • Recreate, clean up, and properly format customer-provided artwork
  • Prepare designs for signs, apparel, promotional products, storefronts, and related applications
  • Ensure artwork is appropriately sized and formatted for its intended production method
  • Convert unsuitable customer files into usable production artwork
  • Review incoming design and quote requests
  • Interpret customer instructions accurately
  • Create initial concepts and proofs based on provided requirements
  • Revise artwork based on feedback
  • Prepare finalized files for production after approval
  • Maintain efficient turnaround for time-sensitive and rush requests
  • Verify dimensions, resolution, file type, and other artwork requirements before production
  • Understand when raster artwork must be recreated or converted into vector format
  • Maintain organized working and final production files
  • Follow established naming, storage, and approval processes

Qualifications and requirements

  • Professional graphic design experience required
  • Adobe Illustrator and/or CorelDRAW proficiency required
  • Strong understanding of vector graphics required
  • Experience preparing print-ready or production-ready artwork strongly preferred
  • Signage, large-format printing, apparel, promotional products, print shop, or related production design experience strongly preferred
  • Understanding of raster versus vector artwork, resolution, scaling, and file preparation required
  • Strong written and verbal English communication required
  • Portfolio demonstrating relevant professional design work required
  • Formal graphic design education is preferred but practical production experience is more important
  • A true graphic designer with strong fundamentals beyond template-based design
  • Highly proficient with vector artwork
  • Understands commercial print and production requirements
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Able to interpret instructions accurately without excessive back-and-forth
  • Strong communicator who asks intelligent questions when requirements are unclear
  • Fast learner willing to complete the client's industry-specific training
  • Comfortable receiving direct feedback and making revisions quickly
