About this role
Datadog's Technical Escalation Engineering team are the in-house product experts, supporting customers from startups to large enterprises through deep technical expertise and problem-solving. This role focuses on usage metering, billing behaviour and Cloud Cost Management across the Asia-Pacific and Japan region.
Responsibilities
- Become the expert on usage metering, revenue-impacting behaviour and Cloud Cost Management, helping customers optimise usage and control spend.
- Lead escalations involving unexpected usage, missing metering data, usage spikes, billing anomalies and limits enforcement.
- Partner with Product, Engineering and Finance to escalate bugs and improve usage visibility and billing transparency.
- Build internal guides, tooling, diagnostics and playbooks, plus customer-facing content on observability costs.
- Enable the global Solutions team by running training sessions and building scalable resources.

Qualifications and requirements
- Curious and detail-oriented about how usage is measured, attributed and billed across cloud products.
- Passionate about helping customers optimise their cloud footprint, with a strong grasp of cloud cost concepts.
- Able to lead technical escalations and communicate clearly with customers and internal teams.
- Comfortable working across Product, Engineering and Finance to resolve billing and usage issues.
