About this role
ALTEN supports some of the UK's most complex defence programmes across land, sea and air. It is hiring experienced Project Engineering Delivery Leads to support delivery of complex engineering work packages on major defence programmes, suited to candidates from Systems, Software, Hardware, Electronics or Project Engineering who have moved into engineering leadership. Based in Belfast, on-site four days a week.
Responsibilities
- Lead the delivery of engineering work packages, ensuring activities are completed to agreed cost, schedule and quality targets.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering teams and stakeholders, driving progress, managing dependencies, actions and delivery risks, and providing regular performance updates.
- Monitor project schedules, resource allocation, budgets and delivery performance, working closely with project management, project controls and engineering leadership.
- Identify, manage and mitigate risks and opportunities throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring effective engineering governance.
- Support bid, change and growth activities, including estimating, planning, solution development and stakeholder engagement.

- Strong leadership and organisational skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.
- Ability to influence and coordinate teams without direct line management responsibility.
- Proactive approach to problem solving and decision making.
- Comfortable operating within complex programme environments and managing competing priorities.
- Background in Systems, Software, Hardware or Electronics Engineering, or a related discipline.
