About this role
Datadog's Technical Account Managers are in-house product experts who provide hands-on technical services to the company's largest customers, supporting adoption and guiding use of the full Datadog suite. This role is remote within South Africa and is regarded as a trusted adviser on how IT operations translate to business value.
Responsibilities
- Advise on technical support and product adoption for customers in line with pre-sales, post-sales and renewal processes.
- Analyse each customer's IT operations environment regularly and recommend changes that maximise Datadog's value.
- Act as the customer's advocate, knowing their goals and use cases and suggesting process changes, product adoption, configuration and features to meet them.
- Prepare for and take part in monthly and quarterly business reviews with customers.
- Collaborate with product management, engineering and technical services to identify new features and products.
- Continuously evolve best practice for technical product adoption and customer success.

Qualifications and requirements
- A solid technical grounding and hands-on IT operations experience.
- Hands-on experience with AWS, Azure or GCP.
- Comfortable with scripting languages such as Python, JavaScript, Ruby, Perl, Go or PHP, or Chef/Puppet.
- Skilled with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins or GitLab.
- Knowledgeable about containerisation tools such as Docker, Kubernetes or Rancher.
- Able to travel to and from client sites up to 30% of the time.
- Previous experience as a TAM supporting mid-market or enterprise customers in the cloud space.
